The Design Technology Department has recently moved into new premises. There is a large workshop surrounded by 4 classrooms.
The workshop has seventeen 4-man workbenches, 5 pillar drills, 5 sanding machines, 3 fretsaws, 2 bandsaws, 2 metal lathes, 1 wood lathe, 1 CNC milling machine, 1 manual turret milling machine, 1 mortise machine, 1 vacuum former and a hot metal area that incorporates casting, welding, braising and forge work.
There are over 30 computers in the department connected to a variety of technical hardware, including: Denford CNC Milling Machine; Roland Modela CNC Engraver; Roland Camm1 vinyl cutter. We also have an A3 colour laser printer.
In the classrooms there are also ample drawing boards, graphics materials, electronic components, soldering irons and test equipment.
