For those Cadets there is CVQO.
CVQO is a registered charity responsible for managing Vocational Qualifications for members of the Combined Cadet Force, Sea Cadet Corps, Army Cadet Force and Air Training Corps.
CVQO is dedicated to helping members of the Cadet Forces get ahead personally and professionally. The qualifications on offer have been designed to show employers and educators the wide range of skills that young people and adults learn in the Cadet Forces.
CVQO offers all Cadets over 16 the opportunity to earn, at no cost, a choice of two internationally recognised vocational qualifications that are respected by employers as well as institutes of higher education.
Whether your objective is further education or improved opportunities in the workforce, a BTEC First Diploma can give you the additional edge you need to reach those goals!
BTEC First Diploma in Public Services
This internationally respected qualification is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at A*- C level (Standard grades at levels 1-3 in Scotland).
The course mixes theory and practical elements with an emphasis on leadership, teamwork, communications, problem solving and fitness.
The syllabus has been designed to improve valuable life skills. Cadets learn professional CV preparation, interviewing techniques, communication, first aid, adventure training, health and nutrition.
And best of all, it's FREE for Cadets!
Cadets must be 16 to enrol in the BTEC Programme. In addition to existing Cadet activities, Cadets are required to complete the course syllabus which includes supervised adventure training activities and occasional weekend training. All coursework is assessed by Edexcel.
