Jonathan Mace B.A. (Hons) joined the school as Head of Department in April 2009 having spent the previous 3 years teaching at Malvern College in Worcestershire. After graduating from Durham University he began his teaching career as a resident tutor and Economics teacher at St Edwards School, Oxford, before moving on to the Business and Economics department at Warwick Boys School. He is an author of Economics and Business studies material, producing regular material for the Tutor2u website including an IB blog. He has had two economics revision guides published by the Anforme group, the latest one, IB Economics, published in September 2009. In his spare time he is a keen sportsman particularly rugby and golf. Jonathan is also Housemaster of a senior boys boarding house, St Denys.
Stephen Shields B.A (Hons), QTS, DipTheo, PGCE has recently joined the Business Studies and Economics Department having spent the last couple of years teaching in London and Manchester. Having grown up in Downpatrick, County Down, he has taught in France, Israel and Poland as well as working in humanitarian provision in India and Romania. Having moved back to the UK, he took up a position as Financial Underwriter in Manchester before returning to University to complete his QTS. He is currently teaching on the GCSE, AS/2 and IB programmes in Business and Economics as well as being Form tutor for a hardy Year 11 cohort. In his spare time, he enjoys participating in most sports including Gaelic games, soccer, rugby and golf.
Mr. James Wilson has worked part time in the department teaching GCSE Business Studies. James gained his MBA at Reading University. As a Chartered Secretary and holding numerous company directorships, James has a wealth of practical experience to support his theoretical teaching. James is an all-rounder who also helps out in many other departments, at the moment he is on loan to the ICT department but we hope to see his return to Business in due course.
