Mr Mike Chappell M.Ed., B.Sc (Hons.), PGCE has joined the School this year as Head of the Business Studies and Economics Department. He grew up in Bristol but has worked is schools in Africa, Egypt, Cyprus and the Middle East as well as several schools in his native England. He has marked both A Level and International Baccalaureate examinations for many years and when he finds time writes book reviews for the Times Educational Supplement.
Mr. Martin Priestley M.A. (Oxon) joined Warminster School as Headmaster in September 2006 from Uppingham School in Rutland, where he taught for twelve years. Born in Hong Kong, he went to boarding school in England from the age of 9 and having completed his A Levels he studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University between 1987 and 1990. He has been teaching Economics and Politics since 1991. He teaches International Baccalaureate Economics to both Upper and Lower Sixth.
Mr. Hywel Carr B.Sc (Hons.), PGCE joined the school in 2005. Hywel studied Economics and Politics at Cardiff University followed by a Business Education PGCE course at the University of the West of England. In addition to his main subject teaching of A Level and GCSE Business and IB Economics teaching, Hywel teaches some Religious Education, Critical Thinking & History. Hywel has an infectious enthusiasm that encourages new ideas and helps to bring the most out of students.
Mr. James Wilson has worked part time in the department teaching GCSE Business Studies. James gained his MBA at Reading University. As a Chartered Secretary and holding numerous company directorships, James has a wealth of practical experience to support his theoretical teaching. James is an all-rounder who also helps out in many other departments, at the moment he is on loan to the ICT department but we hope to see his return to Business in due course.
