Business Studies and Economics Department

The Business Studies and Economics Department has seen dramatic growth over the past five years both in terms of student numbers and courses. Those undertaking either Economics or Business Studies represent approximately 50% of the Sixth Form. We have also introduced courses to provide a breadth of education within the department across all the option year groups. We now offer the following subjects:

AS/A Level Business Studies

IB Economics - Higher and Standard

GCSE Business Studies

In many ways we are victims of our own success with results at ‘A’ level that match any rival subject. We have a 100% pass rate in both the Business Studies and Economics, with a high proportion of A and B grades.

Many of our students are so enthused by the subject matter and opportunities provided to them that they study the subjects further at university.
