On Tuesday 22nd June 2010 we hosted a year 7 & year 10 Art Day. We invited 3 different local contemporary Artists to work with our pupils on a range of collaborative projects based on the theme of “Fantasy Creatures” Brigid Moss – Felt making & Textile Artist Elisa Amor – Recycled materials Sculptor Jack Taylor – Painting & Digital Media Artist The pupils were split into 3 groups and participated in 3 different workshops throughout the day, one workshop with each of the Artists. This day provided students with the opportunity of experiencing and developing skills, methods and materials that would not be practical within a normal art lesson. The resulting artworks will be displayed within the school campus.
