You may have noticed that Warminster School is a member of an organisation called SHMIS. The acronym stands for the Society of Headmasters and Headmistresses of Independent Schools. Now more snappily known as The Society of Heads of Independent Schools, it was formed in the 1960s and provides a forum for sharing ideas and experience. Over 100 independent schools located all over the country are members and Warminster School has been a member since…… ( I have asked SHMIS and they are trying to find out!)
Having such a long association with SHMIS, we were delighted that four of our Art and Photography students are exhibiting their work at a SHMIS-sponsored Art Exhibition being held at Sidcot Arts Centre in North Somerset this year. The show lasts until Thursday 2nd December.
Sixth formers Joyce Chen, Sophie Morgan, Emma Martin and Hollie Andrews, who left in the summer, all have their work displayed alongside that of pupils from sixteen other SHMIS schools.
This annual exhibition promotes the high quality of work produced in SHMIS schools and includes art and craftwork relating to Fashion, Textiles, Photography, Fine Art and 3-D Design.
